During the process of designing my final Zine, I ended up creating it in a similar manner to my brainstorm, but adding more concepts about how music brings the world to life. Despite my desire to incorporate more of the love theme, I did not want to make that the central focus of my work. I have learned a lot from working on this project that helped me gain so much more confidence in both Photoshop and Illustrator. Photoshop was one of the most popular tools in high school, and I used to use it a lot, but I never got to dive deep into the different layers and the way they can make a piece look so much more dynamic. As I learned more about the program and how to make the most of it, I believe that my theme started taking shape. After I presented my work, I felt like the classroom understood all the aspects of the message I put out, and that made me feel relieved that the message I aimed at was heard by the group. There is no doubt that music has always been a part of who I am as a person, and I think this class helped me express myself in new and exciting ways I did not even realize I could express myself. Having completed this project, I am happy to be able to share in class a meaningful piece of work, and I hope to continue sharing more about my passions in the future.
